No Loss Of Plant Production
Farmers applications are typically well proven in economic and environmental benefit, of reducing Black Urea®, Black DAP, liquid nitrogen & GAS with Enhance Max by 25% over their normal fertiliser application rates to achieve the same yield and quality results. The reduction in application does not affect plant production as the plant still receives the same amount of Nitrogen, the saving is in reducing the losses to the environment that the plant was not accessing anyway (volatilisation, leaching, denitrification).
Not Mining Soil Nitrogen
With the unique ability of Black Fertilisers to be applied at 25% reduced rates to ordinary nitrogen and phosphorus fertilisers, while still maintaining yields & quality, the question is often asked, 'are we mining the soil'?
The answer is NO, the reduced rates are possible as Black is reducing the losses to the environment (volatilisation, leaching, denitrification), that the plant was not accessing anyway, so the nutrients are coming from the stability of the fertiliser and not mining soils .
The Innovation
The Coating
The patented coating contains carbon organocatalyst (humic, fulvic, polysaccharides, phyto-hormones, vitamins, minerals & surfactants) that provide a very high nutrient exchange capacity around the fertiliser granule and serve soil microorganisms an extremely high energy packet.
- Nitrogen is stabilised in the soil primarily as ammonium and protein (in microbes) with a sustained release to nitrate controlled by the plant-soil interaction (rhizosphere).
- Phosphorus is stabilised with carbohydrate to avoid reactions with multivalent cations (tie -up).
- A unique stabilising innovation that can be used with Urea, Liquid Urea, UAN, GAS, DAP & RPR.
Do They Work Everywhere?
Yes, wherever high nitrogen losses occur. By working on a physical and biological level, where these processes are limiting, an economically favorable result is typical. Soils with <2.5% soil organic matter (SOM), and/or a low cation exchange capacity (CEC), will perform to expectations.
Why Not Just Use Humic Acid?
We do include a small amount of technical humic acid to provide exchange capacity and to bind the active ingredients to the granule. Humic compounds with a specific ratio of functional groups and with a very high surface area are effective at these small amounts, though are incapable of increasing the metabolic necessity of target soil microbes by themselves.
